Jennifer Hudson is to perform at the White House, in Washington, tonight (24.11.09) at a state dinner being hosted by US President Barack Obama.

Hudson who is a renowned singer and actress will perform to the president, his wife Michelle and 320 guests though its not yet known what she will be singing. This is the first time she will be performing for the Obamas
When Obama then the senator was accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination for presidential candidacy back in 2008, Hudson did sing the American national anthem at the Democratic National Convention
Other soul acts have previously performed at the White House . These include funk band Earth, Wind and Fire whose famous hits include ‘Boogie Wonderland’ and ‘Let’s Groove’ – who performed at the Governor’s Dinner in February ,
Back in last year Jennifer suffered a big lose when she lost her mother Darnell Donnerson who was murdered together with her brother and nephew.
The 28 year old celebrity recently said that she believes that she is protected by the spirit of her mother and she feels inspired by her when she is parenting her three-month old son David.
